Program Details

We often hear that the period of youth is a time of preparation. The development of society will certainly depend to a great extent on the effectiveness of the preparations young people make for the world they will inherit. What we should ask, then, is how young people can best prepare themselves for the responsibilities they will have to take on. Many young people in Victoria are impelled by a vision of transforming their community by empowering the younger generation. 

We will be offering a valuable opportunity for youth aged 15+ this summer. 

Gain experience in the community, while learning more about yourself and make an impact. This opportunity will provide an arena in which knowledge is applied and the intellect developed in the context of the community. Young people will develop capacities in relation to nurturing the education of children and coordinating the junior youth program. 

Upon successful completion of the summer program, formal references will be provided to those who participate and demonstrate excellence.
 

What will I be doing?

• Coordinate and organize junior youth camps and activities

• Engage in further training related to community building

• Plan and execute a neighbourhood children's festival 

• Identifying various social influences in an environment 

• Strengthening meaningful conversations with families

Who can apply?
